2 posts each..on 2 consecutive days. don't expect such a thing to happen again! anyway..i just read some stuff..and well..i'm disappointed. i've read contrasting views. my darling beebee is so hopeful that something will happen on comp day..that sajc band will make it as one of the top 2 bands to perform on presentation night. well..i have faith in the sajc band..i have faith that glosz will be able to work his magic..but you see..magic can only do so much. on the other end of the spectrum..some ppl are disappointed with the band. and they're voicing their disappointments out loud...2 bloody weeks before comp. i've learnt that reverse psychology doesn't always work..sometimes..it'll backfire and blow out your face.
what's the point of having so many arguments when nothing's resolved..and at the end of the day..you're back at square 1. why not divert the energy into working on your techniques/musicality? why play the blame game? does it resolve anything? do the weak players miraculously become good aft a round in the blame game? who has the authority to blame? why is there a need to blame?
get up and quit feeling sorry for the sad state you perceive the band to be in. quit saying you're sorry you're not that great a player..and do something about it! quit demoralising the band with words. you don't realise the profound impact of words, unless, of course, your intention was to demoralise an already bruised band. yes..the odds are stacked against you..the general ratio of players may not be the best..but you have glosz. and you have a bond that's tighter than spiderman's web(it has to be packed and compact if he manages to store so much and shoot so much from his arm!). you have a bond my batch lacked. if we could do it, don't tell me you can't. think of the band as a unit..not as a collective of different people from different backgrounds. you'll go on stage as the sajc band. A band. you will emerge triumphant because regardless of the eventual results, you will have staged a great performance you can be proud of. you don't need a panel of 5 kooky old men to tell you you're good. wake up and smell the roses cos they are definitely there. see beyond the thorns.

in an ideal world..central judging will be all about the music. but we don't live in an ideal world. we live in a world of fked up politics..and sadly..it's not just abt the music. but don't let the politics fog your vision. one beat you make, one sound you create, you are the SAJC CONCERT BAND.
